Love at Home

Clay made it home safely from Afghanistan. We went to the airport to welcome the airmen home complete with signs and flags. It was so exciting and very emotional watching all the families being joined together again. Welcome Home Clay!! We are so proud of you.

Night at Tuachan

Last night Jordan took me to Tuachan in St George, an outdoor amphitheater, to see the production of Les Miserables. Because it was outside they were able to add effects that you wouldn't usually see. They had horses, soldiers running down the side of the canyon, and fireworks! It was amazing. We loved it.

Leaving ZPR soon...

With only two days left of work one of the things I will miss the most is working outdoors. Tonight Jordan and I cooked a dutch oven dinner for twenty and then built a fire for smores. It will be hard to leave but I am really excited about the future and the next steps I am taking in my life.

Work vs play

I took my staff to play paintball today as a reward for working so hard. We played boys against girls. The guys took us out so fast that we had to split the teams. We ended up playing four games. It was a lot more fun than working.

Double Arch Alcove

Jordan and I have planned all summer to hike the entire sixteen miles of the Narrows. When we went to pick up our permit the park ranger informed us that due to a flash flood the night before the Narrows was closed. I was so disappointed. I have been looking forward to that hike for months.

We decided to drive to Kolob Canyon and hike to double arch alcove and camp. The hike to double arch was so beautiful. But just our luck it started to storm and once again flash flood. We drove to St George for pizza and a movie and then back to the resort that night. We will have to save camping for another trip.

Fourth of July

This fourth of July we went to St George to watch the fireworks. Jordan and I had to work so we met up with Andrea and Mallory that night to watch the fireworks show. We ended up sitting on the lawn outside of the temple. It was miserably hot but the fireworks were great. It was worth the drive.

In between planning and work

In between work and planning our wedding Jordan and I have been hiking in the park. It has been incredibly hot here the past few weeks. Most days it reaches 110!! We have to wait until after work when it "cools" down to hike anywhere.
Court of the Patriarchs trail.

Engaged!!!

Since I have no phone service I thought the best way to announce my exciting news was through the family blog.

Jordan and I met and feel in love while working together at the resort this summer. On Saturday while we were hiking the Narrows of Zion National Park he asked me to marry him. We are planning on getting married September 27 th in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. We are so excited.

Pine Creek

Jordan and I went rappelling in Pine Creek last night. It was a six rappel trip which included a 110 foot free fall rappel into a slot canyon. Amazing!

Idaho Penitentiary

I am in Boise for a few days trying to figure out my new found asthma. So in between visits to the doctors I get to spend time with Ella and Amber, two of my favorite people. We went to the Idaho Penitentiary today for a tour. A little creepy but really fun.

Road Trip

Mallory, Jordan and I tried to get permits to the wave. When we didn't win the drawing we decided to drive to the Grand Canyon. It was snowing so we drove back to Utah. The next day we stopped by the ghost town in Grafton, went to a few art gallories and slept! It was so much fun.

Coyote Buttes

My friend Jordan and I met Dad and his friend Jim while they were on a photo trip. We went to Coyote Buttes in Arizona.

On the way back to the ranch we stopped at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes.
